MOSCOW, RUSSIA / RankWire.AI / – In the period from January to July 2026, Russia’s exports excluding raw materials and energy sources have surpassed $96 billion, reflecting an 8% increase compared to the same timeframe in the previous year. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov announced this year-on-year growth in the latest update concerning Russian exports. This category specifically omits the country’s traditional raw-material and energy shipments. The seven-month data follow a period of growth during the first half of 2026. All figures are expressed in U.S. dollars.

Russia non-resource exports top $96 billion through July
Russia’s non-resource exports topped $96 billion through July 2026, rising 8% year on year.

According to Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov, small and midsize enterprises contributed $15.9 billion to the total export figure for the same period, representing approximately 17% of Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports during those months. Currently, roughly 42,700 small and midsize companies are actively engaged in export operations. Additionally, SMEs accounted for 1,042 of the 1,341 applications submitted for the 2026 Exporter of the Year awards. These applicants represented 76 Russian regions across all eight federal districts.

Data from the first half of the year shows Russia’s industrial exports outside resources and energy reached $58.8 billion from January through June. In comparison, the same period in 2025 saw $57.1 billion. This indicates approximately a 3% increase year-on-year within the industrial export sector. The Industry and Trade Ministry highlighted several manufacturing segments that experienced higher foreign sales, offering additional insights into the sectors driving Russia’s non-resource export success in 2026.

Growth observed across vital industrial sectors

Exports of chemical products grew by 5.3% during the first half relative to the same months in 2025. Mineral and chemical fertilizer shipments surged 10.4% over the six-month span. Exports from metallurgy and precious metals increased by 5%, while light industry exports saw a 25% rise. Pharmaceuticals, perfumes, and cosmetics experienced an 11% growth. These figures encompass industrial shipments within Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export classification. The reported growth rates compare January through June 2026 with the corresponding period of the previous year.

Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export target for the full year 2026 has been set at $155.25 billion. Industrial goods comprise $116.95 billion of this annual goal. During 2025, Russia achieved $163.7 billion in non-resource, non-energy exports. Consequently, the 2026 target is approximately 5% lower than last year’s total. These goals are part of the country’s International Cooperation and Export national project, which encompasses industrial products, agricultural exports, and export support infrastructure.

Long-term export ambitions for non-resource sectors

The International Cooperation and Export initiative also includes a 2030 target for non-resource and non-energy merchandise exports, with a goal of $248.1 billion in nominal terms. This reflects a 67% increase compared to the baseline for 2023 used by the program. Industrial goods are projected to account for $192.9 billion of this figure. The Russian Export Center plays an active role in supporting these efforts, offering digital services tailored for companies involved in international trade.

Latest data indicate that Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports from January through July have exceeded $96 billion, with SMEs contributing $15.9 billion. Industrial exports for the first half of 2026 reached $58.8 billion, with growth noted across chemicals, fertilizers, metals, light industry, and pharmaceuticals. The 2026 figures are denominated in U.S. dollars, not rubles. The full-year target for the broader non-resource category remains at $155.25 billion, with industrial exports aiming for $116.95 billion annually.
